Just for amusement.

Our lager, which art in barrels.
Hallowed be thy drink,
Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk)
At home as it is in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head
and forgive us our spillage.
As we forgive those who spill against us.
Lead us not into incarceration but deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and forever
Barmen.

Just been sent this and it seemeed quite amusing as I have started rest days.

Regards.

Our Father, who art in Hendon,
Harrow Road be thy name
Thy Kingston come
Thy Wimbledon
In Erith as it is in Hendon
Give us this day our Berkhamstead
And forgive us our Westminsters
As we forgive those who Westminster against us
Lead us not into Temple Station
But deliver us from Ealing
For thine is the Kingston, the Purley and the Crawley
For Iver and Iver
Crouch End.

Oh dear Lord, please hear my prayer,
And save mankind from Larger,
A snare for fools, a path to despair.
To avoid life's traps, one must try harder!
Treating body and soul, with far greater care.

Oh dear Lord, please hear my prayer,
And save us from the demon drink,
For a grieving heart, it cannot repair,
Nor lift any sorrow, when spirits do sink,
As life is a test, when folk are unfair.

Oh dear Lord, please hear my prayer,
And save my friend, hovering on the brink.
Please guide him to safety, with your loving care.
Distracted and tempted, he was led into drink.
But the true world of 'spirit', is beyond compare.

With love, from me, for you.

D'oh.....that should have read "lager"....not "larger"!!!
Oh dear, dyslexia strikes again.
What's your excuse C.C, for "seemeed" [quite amusing].
I bet it was the lager!

Just stopped in to see how you're doing? Any news from the application process? If they don't pick you they're fools! BG

"Sure the Craic was good, in Cricklewood, and they wouldn't leave The Crown

Oh Mother dear, I'm over here, `an I'm never comin' back;

What keeps me here, is the ring 'O beer, the women...and the Craic"

(Overheard in `Biddy Mulligans`, Cricklewood Rd jw Walm Lane, 1972, They pulled it down, but The Crown's still there, sniff sniff :)

I think the poem you quoted is by Adrian Plass, he did a whole set of them for different jobs.
